will dated 6 Nov 1736, proved 3 May 1737. Mentions wife Ann; three children,
Jean, Thomas, and John; brother John White [Ref: ChesterCoPA Wills B-20]
signed his last Will and Testament on Nov 6 1736, and it was entered for
probate on May 3 1737. Will still survives in the Chester County Archives,
117 West Gay Street, West Chester, PA 19380, recorded o page 20 of Will Book
"B". The person who recorded the Will onto page 20 left out line line of the

Chester Co PA Wills B-20, dated 6 Nov 1736, proved 3 May 1737:
In the name of God amen. I Thomas White of West Caln in the County of
Chester and Province of Pennsylvania Yeoman being very sick and weak in body
but of perfect Wit and Memory do make this as my last Will and Testament, That
is to Say I first of all Recommend my Spirit to God who gave it and my body to
the dust to be decently interred at the discretion of my Executor and as to
what of this World's goods it hath pleased God to bless me with I do leave in
form and manner following, that is to say, I leave and bequeath unto my dearly
and well beloved wife Ann the one third part of all my Estate. I leave and
bequeath to my three Children Jean, Thomas and John to be equally divided
amongst them only. I leave and bequeath unto my Dear Daughter Jean one black
Heifer, a strait Coat and Jacket of broad cloth. I leave and bequeath unto my
Brother John and Likewise the great Coat he gave unto me. I bequeath unto him
again and that he shall have one of the Cows at the appraisement of two
Judicious men and shall pay interest for the money while he hath it in his
hand and further I do allow that all my goods be registered and praised by two
Judicious men and further I allow that the Children parts be put to the best
use for them and that my Dear Wife Shall have it in her hand giving Security
while the remains in Widowhood and it Shall be in the Executor power to take
it out of her hand when She is Married to any man and I further do allow and
impower Samuel Henry as my sold Executor and I also do appoint and impower by
Brother John White to take account of them both This Acknowledge as my last
Will and Testament and do hereby disannull all former Wills Testaments
Contracts whatsoever formerly Willed or Contracted. In Witness whereof I have
hereunto set my hand and affixed my Seal this Sixth day of November Anno
Domini 1736. Thomas White.

Chester, 3rd of May 1737. Then personally appeared William Gregory and
Samuel Henry the Witnesses to the within written Will the said William Gregory
on his Affirmation and Samuel Henry on his Oath did Declare and say they were
Present and Saw the Testator therein Named Sign Seal Publish Pronounce and
declare the said writing to be his Last Will and Testament and that at the
doing thereof he was of sound mind and Memory to the best of their
understanding. Affirmed Joseph Parker, Deputy Register
Be it remembered that the third day of May Anno Domini 1737 the last Will
and Testament of Thomas White lake of West Caln in the County aforesaid
deceased was proved in due form of law as Probate and Letters of
Administration was granted to John Love and Samuel Henry Executors therein
named being first attested well and truly to Administer and to bring in an
Inventory of the said deceased Estate into the Register Office for the said
County of Chester aforesaid on or before the third day of June next to Exhibit
a Just Account of Their administration when Legally thereunto Required Given

Petition of Robert Anderson, Mar 15 1742/3:
To the Honourable Justices of the Orphans Court to be held at Chester for
the County of Chester this 15th day of March 1742/3. The petition of Robert
Anderson humbly showeth that whereas your petitioner having lately married the
widdow of Thomas White, deceased, which has three small children which are not
yett arrived to the age to choose guardians for themselves & therefore your
petitioner prays that your Honours will be pleased to take the affare in your
consideration that guardian may be chosen to take care of said orphans and
your petitioner as in duty will ebver pray, signed Robert Anderson. [Ref:
