This Indenture made and executed this 23rd day of October Anno Domini one
thousand eight hundred and sixty between Nancy Blayney widow of Charles
Blayney late of Ohio County Virginia deceased, Vincent Blayney and Mary his
wife of Washington County Pennsylvania, John Blayney and Caroline his wife of
Ohio County Virginia, Charles Blayney and Mary Jane his wife of Morrow County
Ohio, James Blayney and Margaret his wife, Henry Blayney, J McCluskey Blayney,
Susannah Valentine late Susannah Blayney and widow of John Valentine decd,
William Reed and Elisabeth his wife late Elisabeth Blayney of Ohio County
Virginia, and George McDonald and Martha his wife late Martha Blayney of
Monroe County Ohio, which Vincent, John, Charles, James, Henry, J. McClusky,
Susannah, Elisabeth, and Martha are children of the said Charles Blayney,
deceased, parties of the first part, and David Blayney and Adam Blayney sons
of the said Charles Blayney, deceased, parties of the second part, Whereas the
said Charles Blayney deceased in his lifetime by agreement dated the 20th of
June 1839, and now of record in the Clerk's office of Ohio County, Virginia,
agreed to sell to said David and Adam Blayney his land situate on the waters
of Castlemans Run, Ohio County, Virginia, containing two hundred sixty seven
and one half acres more or less, at forty dollars per acre, which is bounded
and described as follows, Beginning at a stone, thence by land of Marcus Bohm
S 68 E 115.3 perches to a stone, thence by land of W Quoton and Freese S 3 3/4
W 143.2 perches to a white oak, thence by land of Thomas Pattison S 75 W 45.3
perches to a stone, thence lands of Pattison Reed and Murray N 80 1/2 W 138.1
perches to a stone near a beech, thence by lands of Reed and Blayney N 59 W
129.4 perches to white oak, thence by land of James Blayney N 2 E 76 perches
to hickory, thence N 74 W 87.3 perches to a stone, thence by land of Joseph

Now this indenture witnesseth that the said parties of the first part for and
in consideration of the sum of twelve thousand one hundred and sixty dollars
to them in hand paid by the said party of the second part, at or before the
ensealing and delivery hereof, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged have
granted, remised, released, conveyed, and forever quit claim and by these
presents do fully and absolutely grant, remise, release, convey, and forever
quit claim all the estate, rights, title, interest, property claim and demand
whatsoever in law, equity or otherwise howsoever, of them the said parties of
the first part of in and to the said described tract of land with the
appurtenances thereunto belonging unto the said party of the second part their
heirs and assigns to and for their only proper use benefit ant behoof forever,
so that neither they the said parties of the first part nor their heirs nor
any person or persons claiming under them or any of them shall at any time
hereafter by any way or means have claim or demand any right title to the
aforesaid promises or appurtenance or any part or parcel thereof forever. In
testimony whereof the said parties of the first part here hereunto set their

Virginia, Ohio County, to wit, We Joseph O Curtis and Thomas G Yates,
Justices of the peace in and for the said County of Ohio aforesaid do certify
that personally came before us in our County aforesaid, Nancy Blayney, Vincent
Blayney, Mary Blayney his wife, John Blayney, Caroline Blayney his wife, James
Blayney, Margaret Blayney his wife, Susan Valentine, William Reed, Elisabeth
Reed his wife, George McDonald and Martha McDonald his wife, whose names are
signed as parties to the foregoing or annexed deed dated this 23rd day of
October one thousand eight hundred and sixty, has acknowledged the same before
us this day in our said County, and the said Mary Blayney, Caroline Blayney,
Margaret Blayney, Elisabeth Reed and Martha McDonald being by us examined
separate and apart from their said husbands and having the said deed fully
explained to them, said they had willingly signed sealed and delivered the
same and wished not to retract it. Given under our hands this 23rd day

The State of Ohio, Morrow County, SS. On the 11th day of December, A.D.
1860, before the subscriber a Justice of the Peace within and for said County,
personally appeared Charles Blayney and Mary Jane Blayney who signed and
sealed the foregoing deed and acknowledged the signing and sealing thereof to
be their act and deed for the purposes therein expressed. And the said Mary
Jane Blayney wife of the said Charles Blayney being by me examined separate
and apart from her said husband and the contents of sai deed being fully made
known to her by reading the same in her presence, she did declare upon such
separate examination that she did voluntarily sign seal and acknowledge the
same, and that she is still satisfied therewith. Benjamin Busby, Justice of
the Peace.
The State of Ohio, Morrow County, SS. I William W Freoin, Clerk of the
Court of Common Please for the aforesaid County of Morrow, do hereby certify
that Benjamin Busby, Esq, before whom the acknowledgement of Charles Blayney
and Mary Jane Blayney appears to have taken as parties to the foregoing deed,
and whose genuine signature appears to the above certificate was at the date
of said certificate (December 11, 1860) a Justice of the Peace within and for
said County of Morrow Commissioned and qualified according to law and that the
same is in accordance with the laws of the State of Ohio. In testimony
whereof I hereto set my hand and affix the seal of said Court at Mt. Gilead,
this 17th day of December A.D. 1860. Wm W. Freon, Clerk.

for the County of Ohio, aofresaid, do certify that Henry G Blayney and J.
McClusky Blayney, whose names are signed as parties to the foregoing or
