In the Name of God Amen. The twenty second Day of February in the Year of our Lord God 1733/4 I Thomas Reid of Octurara(?) in the County of Lancaster Justice being very sick in Body but of Fit mind and memory Thanks be to God for it therefore Calling unto mind the of my Body and knowing that it is Appointed for all Men once to die do make and Ordain this my last Will and Testament, that is to say, Principally and first of all I give and commend my Soul unto the Hands of God that gave it and for my Body I recommend to the Earth to be Buried in a Christian Like and Decent manner at the Discretion of my Executor nothing Doubting but at the General Resurrection For All Receive the same again by the Mighty Power of God and Touching such Worldly Estate wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me in this life I give devise and Dispose of in the following manner and form. In primus I ordain and Appoint my Loving Wife Mary together with my Sons John and Nathan to be my Sole Executors and to Act in the way and manner that may seem most Equal the following Rules observed. I bequeath to my said Wife Mary the ivase(?) third of my all Goods and Chattels provided she Continues my Widowhood but if otherwise only to enjoy a Child's Part and all my Children to wit John and Nathan, Eleanor, Alexander, Thomas, Mary, and James I leave to each of them equal Shares of all my of my Goods and Chattels or Reference being had to the foregoing and Provided that if any of the Children shall die before they come to Marriage estate or the Mother that then their Parts shall be equally divided among the rest. I also appoint that in case John and Nathan whall be Suitably provided for in Plantaiss(?) by means of their Marriages these and in Such Case they are only to Lay claim to the Moeble(?) part of the Effects Allwise provided that Funeral Charges and other Debtrs together with the Costs of Administration be first payed out of the whole. Lancaster County, the Sixth day of August Anno Dom 1734. Then Personally Appeared John Reid and Joseph Miller the witnesses to the within Will and on their Oaths did Declare they saw and heard Thomas Reid the Testator above named Sign Seal Publish and Declare the same Will to be his last Will and Testament and that at the doing thereof he was of Sound mind Memory and Understanding to the best of their knowledge.
