remained at his father's and grandfather's home in Sadsbury Twp, Lancaster Co, PA. [Ref: Dedman SHANNON p4, ShannonD SHANNON p15]

Jan 7 1768: appeared in Orphan's Court, Lancaster, PA, asking the court for a division or arrangement of his father's estate, stating that his father had died intestate leaving a widow and 11 children [Ref: ShannonD SHANNON p15]

1782: will was filed in Washington Co, PA [Ref: Craig BYERS p66, Eagleson BYERS p64, ShannonD SHANNON p15]

John REEDS and John SHANNON obtained warrants for land adjoining each other on Chartiers Creek, each for 224 acres, both dated Feb 25 1785. Shannon's tract called "Breadhall" and Reeds' tract "Wakefield". looks like a survey for 448 acres and divided into two equal parts by a single line running N.37 W.292 rods. [Ref: Eagleson BYERS p4]
