Research Notes:
1822: made a permanent settlement at Saltillo, TN. He had with him Colonel John Holland and Parkerson Mitchell. Wife and children came by land driving cattle. Thomas came by river. [Ref: ShannonD SHANNON p116]

1825: built first house in Saltillo [Ref: ShannonD SHANNON p116]

first sheriff of Madison Co TN. Built first house in Jackson, which was the "Shannon Tavern," a hotel. [Ref: ShannonD SHANNON p116]
