WILL OF JAMES REID OF WARREN CO KENTUCKY
In the Name of God Amen, I James Reid of Warren County and State of Kentucky being of Perfect Health and Sound in memory and Judgment Thanks be to God, and Knowing that it is Appointed for all men onst to Die do make and ordain this my last Will and Testament in manner Following, Vis I Recommend my Soul into the Hands of Almighty God the Disposer of all things and my Body to be Buried in a Deacent and Christian Manner at the Discrestion of my Esecutors Hereafter to be named, as Touching Such Worldly goods as it hath Pleased God to bless me with, after my Lawful Debts and Funeral Expenses are paid, I Dispose of in the Following manner to wit if my well beloved Wife Annes should survive me I allow her an ample Maintainance out of my Estate During hir natural life at hir own Discretion.
Item, I will and Bequeath to my Son Alexander Reid one Dollar to him and his Heirs. Item, I give and Bequeath to my Daughter Jane Shannon ten Dollars to be paid out of the money Arising from the Sale of 300 Acres of Land in Green County in this State when sold to hir and hir Heirs. Item, to my Daughter Mary Shannon I give and Bequeath ten Dollars to be paid out of the money Arising from the Sale of the Green County Land as before Mentioned to hir and hir Heirs. Item, I give and Bequeath to my Daughter Annie McDavitt ten Dollars to be paid out of the Sale of the Green County Land as before mentioned. Item, I give and Bequeath to my Daughter Betsey Reid one Horse and Saddle one bed and Furniture one Cow and Calf. Item, I Give and Bequeath to my Daughter Melinda Reid one Horse and Saddle one Bed and Furniture one Cow and Calf also I give and Bequeath to my Daughters Betsey and Melinda Reids the Balance of the price of the 300 Acres of Land in Green County After Paying ten Dollars to Each of their Sisters as before mentioned and paying all Expenses that may arise in Dividing of the Land or otherwise, to them and their Heirs forever to wit to the Said Betsey Reid and Melinda Reid. Item, I will and Bequeath to my Grandson Johnnathan Reid son of my son James Reid Deceased when he Comes of Lawful age one Horse at the Value of Forty Dollars to him and his Heirs forever. Item, I will and Bequeath to my Son Samual Reid five Dollars it him and his Heirs. Item, and the Ballance of all my Estate both Real and Personal I give and Bequeath to my sons David and George Reid by them to be Equally Divided between them at my Decease. Lastly I do hereby Constitute my son David Reid and Samuel Reid and George Reid Executors of my last Will and Testament hereby Revoking all former or other Will or Wills by me made and Declareing this only to be my last Will and Testament whereunto I have Set my hand and Affixed my Seal this Twentiseventh of December Eighteen Hundred and Nine. signed: Jas' Reid

This is a very old hand written list of birth and death dates for the family of James Reid and his Wife Annes Reid. The list was found inserted in the Family Bible of their eldest son, Alexander Reid and his wife Jane Shannon. The latest entry on the list is the death of Annes on 12 July 1825. Sometime after that date and before 1830, Alexander and Jane moved from Shelby Co. KY to Lincoln Co. MO. I believe that before moving to Missouri they made this copy from the family bible of James and Annes.
