reportedly left MS and lived near Fort Worth, TX. owned a large ranch there [Ref: ShannonD SHANNON p141]

story is told that he permitted a person to place some horses in his corrals and that during the night a posse came and determined the horses had been stolen. Andrew reportedly told them that the horses belonged to the stranger.
The posse could not find the person in the barn and they are said to have hung Andrew for alleged rustling. It is also said that a few days later the facts came out as reported by Andrew, and that they had made an error when they hung Andrew. This story is unsubstantiated. [Ref: ShannonD SHANNON p141]
