sister of the whole blood to the Conqueror, as stated by Orderic, though this is not confirmed by Robert de Torigny [Ref: White Gunnor p129]

pedigree of the early possessors of Aumale has been investigated by T. Stapleton in Archaeologia, v.26 p 349-360. There he supposed he had proved that Orderic was wrong in stating that the wife of Count Eudes of Champagne was dau of Duke Robert, and, that she was really the Duke grand-daughter. later on, he discovered his own error. His ammended conclusions are in Coll.Topet Gen, v.6 p265, and, at greater length, in Rot.Scacc.Norm v2, p29-31. He had, however, in the meantime misled Poulson (Holderness v1 p24 et seq) [Ref: CP I p351(b)]

length of her marital career has led to the occasional suggestion that it was her daughter Adelaide of Ponthieu who married Eudies de Champagne, but that was shown to be an error by Stapleton [Ref: Keats-Rohan DP p124]
