an old view was that Ermengarde was the daughter of Richard the Justiciar (d.921), brother of Boso; this was followed by McKitterick in her book on the Carolingians (1983), but there have been other theories as well. [Ref: Matman SGM 5/20/1997-213605]

supposed father: Richard duke of Burgundy, d. 1 Sep 921, stated by numerous sources, but without any reasonable documentation.
