daughters named Havise, Emma, Matilda, and Beatrice, names that strongly suggest that his allegedly infertile marriage to Emma, daughter of Hugh the Great, was fertile. [Ref: Keats-Rohan Poppa p190]

Dudo tells us that Richard I fathered two sons and two daughters from concubines after the death of his first wife, the Frankish princess Emma, one of whom was Godfrey of Brionne. [Ref: Peter Stewart SGM 3/23/2007-200839]
