1081: driver out by Carodoc ap Gruffydd, and took refuge in St David's; he subsequently allied himself with Gruffydd ap Cynan, former ruler of Gwyndd, and rebuilt his former position in Deheubarth with Norman assistance [Ref: Keats-Rohan DP p369]
