WashingtonPA Observer 1/29/1949:
Virginia Todd Edgar, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Edgar, The Meadows, Claysville, and Robert Thomas Gebhardt, son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Gebhardt, Valley Grove, W. Va., were united in marriage last Saturday night.
The West Alexander Presbyterian Church was the setting for the single ring ceremony. The Rev. R. E. Kaufman, pastor, officiated.
The couple exchanged vows by candlelight before an embankment of palms, ferns and lighted tapers in candelabra.
As the wedding guests assembled, a recital of nuptial selections which included "Because" and "I Love Thee" was played by Mrs. Martha Riggs. Mary Katherine Reed was soloist.
The bride was given in marriage by her father.
She wore a white satin gown with fitted bodice, long sleeves edged in lace and pointed over the wrist, a small lace collar and a full skirt that ended in a cathedral train. The bride's fingertip veil cascaded from a seed pearl .... [Ref: WashingtonPA Observer 1/29/1949]

Virginia Gebhardt
Gebhardt, Virginia Todd, 82, of Valley Grove, WV, died January 20, 2011, at her home.
Virginia was an active life long member of the West Alexander Presbyterian Church, where she was a Deacon and a Trustee.
She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and friend.
Surviving are her loving husband of 62 years, Robert T Gebhardt; three children, Kathie Jo Lutz, R Todd Gebhardt and his wife, Candace Nau, Kimberly Litman and her husband, Barry Litman; six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
