This Deed made this eighth day of February in the year of our Lord one
thousand eight [hundred] and sixty between William and Elijah Moore of the
County of Ohio and State of Virginia parties of the first part and Elisabeth J
Murray of County and State aforesaid of the second part, Witnesseth that in
consideration of the sum of one dollar to them in hand paid the said parties
of the first part the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged doth grant unto
the said party of the second part and her heirs executors administrators and
assigns forever all that certain lot or parcel of ground now owned by the said
parties of the first part known and described as follows, viz, Beginning at
White Oak corner to William Reed, thence South two degrees west eleven rods to
a stone corner to Wm and Elijah Moore thendce south eighty four degrees west
forty rods to a stone corner to Wm Reed and Wm & Elijah Moore, thence north
sixty nine and one half degrees east forty two and nine tenth rods to the
place of beginning, containing one acre and fifty seven perches, To have and
to hold the above described premises to the said Elisabeth J Murray and her

This Deed made the 23rd day of March in the year Eighteen Hundred and Sixty
Three between Oliver Reed of the first part and William Moore of the second
part both of the County of Ohio in the State of Virginia, Witnesseth that the
said party of the first part doth grant unto the said party of the second part
with covenant of general warranty the following described property viz, All
that tract of land situate in the said County of Ohio on which the said Oliver
Reed now resides and bounded as follows, to wit, beginning at a white oak in
Edward Blayneys line thence S 70 3/4 W 56 8/14 poles to a post on Thomas
Moores line thence [sic] 42 W 72 7/10 poles to a White oak stump thence N 68
1/4 W 33 8/10 to a post formerly a Sugar Tree thence N 57 E 78 poles to a
Beech S 76 1/2 E 67 3/10 poles to a post in Edward Blayneys line S 2 E 73 3/10
to the beginning, containing fifty four acres three roods and three perches,
In trust to secure the payment of six hundred and twenty six 55/100 dollars
with interest thereon from the first day of April 1862 to become due and owing
form the said Oliver Reed to James Wilson Reed Elijah Moore Elizabeth Murray
Margaret Fisher William Breckenridge and James W Breckenridge as follows, viz,
one fourth of the principle on the first day of April 1864, one fourth April
1st 1865, one fourth April 1st 1866 and one fourth April 1st 1867 and the
unpaid interest on the said sum of money on the 1st day of April 1868, And for
the payment of which the said Oliver Reed has this day executed and delivered
to each of the said creditors separate bond for the sum of one hundred and
four 42.100 Dollars with interest thereon from April 1st 1862 until paid for
his or share of the said $626 55/100 sever(?) all payable in installments $26
10/100 Each on the first day of April 1864 1865 1866 and 1867 and on the first
day of April 1868 the said Oliver Reed agrees to pay the interest on the
several instruments from the first day of April 1864 until they were paid
respectively for which no note is given. Now if the said party of the first
part shall pay the said several sums of money as above set forth then this
deed shall be void. But if the said sums or any of them shall become due and
remain unpaid then the said William Moore shall upon request of any one of the
creditors so unpaid proceed to sell the land hereby conveyed at public sale
having first given three months notice of the time and place of sale by public
notice published in some newspaper published in the City of Wheeling for cash
or upon such terms of credit as to him shall seem most beneficial to the
parties interested and out of the proceeds shall first pay the cost of
executing this trust secondly shall pay the unpaid installments taking care to
provide in such a sale for the installments yet to become due if any and the
residue if any shall be paid to the said Oliver Reed. It is agreed that said
trustee may act by agent in the execution of this trust and that the sale may
be adjoined from time to time by oral proclamation at the day of sale.

the said County do certify that Oliver Reed and William Moore whose names ar

This Deed made this 14th day of March 1864 between William Moore of Ohio
County State of West Virginia party of the first part and Oliver Reed of the
same place party of the second part, Witnesseth that whereas the said Oliver
Reed by deed of trust dated the 23rd day of March 1863 conveyed to the said
William Moore the tract of land therein named containing fifty four acres
three roods and three perches situate in said County in trust to secure the
payment of six hundred and twenty six dollars and fifty five cents with
interest from the first day of April 1862 due to James Wilson Reed Elijah
Moore Elizabeth Murray Margaret Fisher William Breckenridge and James K
Breckenridge and which deed of trust to said Moore as trustee is recorded in
the Recorders office of said County, And whereas the said debt is fully paid
and satisfied, Now the said William Moore in consideration of the premises and
of one dollar to him paid by the said Oliver Reed has and by these presents
does with special warrant grant and release to said Oliver Reed said tract of
land and which is bounded as follows to wit, beginning at a White Oak in
Edward Blaneys line thence S 70 1/4 West 56 4/14 poles toa post on Thomas

This Deed made the eighth day of April in the year One thousand eight
hundred and sixty four (1864) between John M Pollack of Ohio County and State
of West Virginia of the first part and William Moore of same county and State
of the second part, Witnesseth that the said party of the first part doth
grant unto the said party of the second part with general warranty the
following property to wit, the following described piece or parcel of land
situate on the Cumberland Road in the said County of Ohio, about fourteen
miles east of the City of Wheeling and bounded as follows, to wit, Beginning
at a post ten feet from the North west corner of the wingwall of the bridge
below the swill thence running N 40 E 40 poles to the North end of the breast
of the swill dam thence S 77 E 29 poles to a stake near the railroad, thence N
75 1/4 E 28 poles to a stake thence S 71 E 32 5/10 poles to a stake thence S

1863 granted a part of said land of said William Gilmore decd including the
mills and appurtenances and adjoining said lands hereby granted and above
described should have the rights for himself and heirs and assigns to raise
said Mill dam five feet higher and to take material earth etc from said above
granted lands within a radius of five rods from the north end of the spill of
said mill dam to repair said dam provided he or they should not thereby
obstruct the roadway passing near said dam and which said privilege was
granted by said John M Pollock in said deed aforesaid to him and lands hereby
granted being same granted to said party of the first part by said John Paison
and Peregues Witham executors as aforesaid of said William Gilmer decd bearing
date the 26th day of November 1863 and of record in the recorders office of
Ohio County in Deed Book 47 folio 236 and 237 in trust to secure to Agnes
Gilmore widow of said William Gilmore deceased the payment of the two
following described promissory notes to wit, one for the sum of $3541.80
payable on or before the first day of April 1865 drawn by John N Pollack and
Robert Gilmore bearing date on the 26th day of November 1863, and payable to
said John Pearson and Peregars Whitham executors of the last will and
testament of William Gilmore decd and the other for the like sum of $3541.80
bearing the same date to wit, the 26th day of November 1863 and drawn by said
John N Pollack and Robert Gilmore and payable on or before the first day of
April 1866 to said Pearson and Whitham executors as aforesaid and each bearing
interest at the rate of four percent per annum after the first day of April
1864 and which notes were given by said Pollack to said executors on account
of the purchase of above granted land and assigned by them to said Agnes
Gilmer on account of her interest in the estate of said William Gilmer decd,

time of my death shall be a charge on all the real estate hereby devised, the
same to be paid equally by both my sons.
Fifth I hereby require my two sons to erect a monument in my lot in the
West Alexander Cemetery for my family within two years after my death, costing
not less than five hundred dollars, and I hereby make the same a charge upon
the land herein devised to them, the same to be paid for by them equally.
Sixty I hereby nominate constitute and appoint my sons Elijah T Moore and
William F Moore as executors of this my last will and testament.
In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 21st day
