Research Notes:
1 Jun 1317: obtained a dispensation to marry Edward Bruce, Earl of Carrick, connected within the third and fourth degrees of affinity; he fell at the battle of Dundalk 5 Oct 1318. The marriage probably never took place [Ref: SP VII p235]

dispensation to marry Edward de BRUS was needed due to the fact that his first wife, Isabel de Strathbogie, and Isabel de Roos, were related in the 4th and 3rd degrees respectively, being descendants of William Comyn Earl of Buchan Justiciar of Scotland [Ref: Richardson RoyalAnc v1p600]

marriage to Edward BRUS did not tak eplace, and Isabella married instead Brus's nephew the earl of Moray [Ref: MacEwen BoydTomb p57(25)]
