based on his research and analysis of the evidence, Andrew B.W.MacEwen has determined that Robert BOYD, father of Thomas BOYD and husband of one of the daughters and coheiresses of Sir Hugh GIFFORD of Yester, has been omitted from the Boyd genealogy at SP 5:139-40, and futher established that this coheiress was Margaret Gifford [Ref: Thompson CharlesII v23-78(40)]
