May 17 1244: was a ward of the king. Bernard de SAVOY and Hugh GIFFORD were commanded to deliver her to her husband Robert De ROOS, grandson of the Surety of that name. "But not" says Dugdale, "without a round computation, for there appears that both he and his wife in the 32nd of King Henry III were debtors to the king in no less the sum of 3285 pounds, 13s 4d; of which sum the king was then pleased to accept 200 marks a year until it should be paid [Ref: Wurts MCBarons p42]
