Passport of John George Obermayer:
Inasmuch as the above mentioned, John George Obermayer, native
of Blankenloch, has resolved to go to the New Country, the Colony of
Pennsylvania, and has most respectfully besought and petitioned us, as the
representatives of this court for an honorable dismissal and certificant of
good character, and we cannot justly refuse, but on the other hand, we
cheerfully testify upon the ground of trust, that he has, in his service in
our midst, conducted himself as a Christian, honest, trustworthy and
industrious. We therefore wish Mr. Obermayer not only all temporal by all
eternal blessings.
We therefore beseech all respective persons, whether of high of low estate,
with this charge of duty; not only to let him pass free and unmolested
wherever he may choose to go, but also without suspicion, kindly to receive
and entertain said Obermayer in what-so-ever place or locality he may announce
himself, for which we shall ever be the Indebtors.

Northumberland Co PA Deeds D-135, dated 25 Aug 1774:
Know all men by these presents, That I Jonas Foughts of Penns Township and
County of Northumberland, for and in Consideration of the sum of five pounds
lawfull money of the Province of Pennsylvania, to me in hand well and truly
paid by George Overmier, of the Township and County aforesaid, at or before
the Sealing and delivery hereof (the receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge)
and for other good causes and Valuable considerations have bargained sold
released assigned and confirmed and by these presents do grant, bargain, sell,
release, assign, and confirm unto the said George Overmier heirs Executors
administrators and assigns all my right title interest property claim and
demand of in and to a Certain Application by me or for me, entered in the
proprietors land office for the Province aforesaid, and received in the same
by the Secretary of the said office, on the third day of April 1769 for taking
up three hundred acres of land on a limestone spring that empties into the
north side of Penns Creek, about one mile from the mouth of said Spring, or
run where it empties into Penns about fifteen miles from George Gabrails
place. The Number of the order of Survey three hundred forty No 340, and
likewise all my right, title, interest, property, claim and demand, of in and
to a certain order issued or to be issued for surveying and locating to my use
the said Quantity of three hundred acres of land and of and to the warrant and
patent to be granted for the same. To have and to hold the said premises and
every part thereof, surveyed, or to be Surveyed, and located in pursuance of
the said application, or order, or meant mentioned and intended so to be, with
all the appurtenances whatsoever thereunto belonging. To the only proper use
and behoof of him the said George Overmire his heirs Executors Administrators
and assigns forever, under and subject to the payment of the Consideration
money and Quit rent due or to be come due to the honorable the proprietors of
the said province for the same, and the charges of surveying and all other
Charges taxes and assessments whatsoever, and the said Jonas Foughts for
myself my heirs Executors and Administrators shall and will at all and any
time or times hereafter upon the reasonable request costs and charges of him
the said George Overmire heirs Executors Administrators and assigns, make do
execute acknowledge and deliver or cause to be done, all and every such
further and other conveyance and assunces(?) in the law for granting and
conveying the said described tract of land and premises with all the
appurtenances unto the said George Overmier, his heirs, Executors,
Administrators, and assigns, forever as by his council learned in the law
shall be advised devised or required. In Witness whereof the said Jonas
Foughts have hereunto set my hand and Seal this twenty fifth day of August in

The Supreme Executive Council of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, To all to
whom these presents shall come Greeting. Know ye that in Consideration of the
sum of Fifty three pounds nineteen Shillings lawfull money paid by George
Overmier into the Receiver General Office of this Commonwealth there is
granted by the said Commonwealth unto the said George Overmier a certain tract
of land called "Berlin" situate on Sick Run in Buffalo Township Northumberland
County, Beginning at a corner post of John Ords land thence by the same South
sixty five degrees west three hundred and ninety eight perches and an half to
a corner post of John Mussers land, thence by the same West one hundred and
eighty two perches to a black Oak thence by vacant land North twenty one
degrees West one hundred perches to a Chestnut Oak thence North eighty degrees
East fifty five perches to a Black oak North East one hundred and six perches
to a White Oak and south sixty three degrees East fifty perches to a Black Oak
thence by the same and Land of Joseph Gran North sixty three degrees East
seventy perches to a post thence by said Grans Land east one hundred and sixty
perches to a White Oak South eleven perches to a Spanish Oak South East twenty
perches to a White Oak and North sixty five degrees East one hundred and five
perches to a White Oak thence by Vacant Land South eighty degrees East forty

Beginning, containing three hundred and eighty nine acres and allowance of six
percent for Roads with the appurtenances which said tract was surveyed in
pursuance of an Application No 340 entered 3rd April 1769 by Jonas Fucke alias
Foulke who by Deed dated the 25th August 1774 conveyed the same to the said
George Overmier for whom a warrant of acceptance issued the 4th May Instant,
To Have and to hold the said tract of parcel of land with the Appurtenances
unto the said George Overmire and his Heirs to the use of him the said George
Overmire his heirs and assigns forever free and clear of all Restrictions and
reservations as to Mines Royalties quit rents or otherwise excepting and
reserving only the fifth part of all Gold and Silver Ore for the use of this
Commonwealth to be delivered at the Pits Mouth clear of all charges. In

Executive Council hath hereunto set his hand and caused the State Seal to be

Northumberland Co PA Deeds G-77, dated 21 Apr 1794:
This Indenture made the 21st day of April in the Year of our Lord 1794
Between Martha Barber of East Buffalo Township in the County of Northumberland
widow of the one part, and George Obermire of the same place farmer of the
other part, Whereas the said George has it in contemplation to erect a saw
mill on his land near the division line of the lands of the said George and
Lands of the said Martha, And Whereas it is necessary and requisite that the
tail race of the said saw mill should pass about ten perches through a part of
the meadow of the said Martha which is continuous to the said division line
and site of the said saw mill. Not this Indenture witnesseth that the said
Martha as well in consideration of the sum of one Shilling to her in hand paid
by the said George Before the execution hereof the receipt whereof is hereby
acknowledged, as for the reservations hereinafter mentioned hath bargained
sold and confirmed and by these presents doth bargain sell and confirm unto
the said George Overmire his heirs and assigns the liberty and privilege of
conveying the water from the said saw mill about ten rods through he said
meadow (to intersect the said stream of water below the said sawmill) by a
race of the width of four feet at the Bottom and six feet at the top and also
free ingress egress and regress at proper seasons of the year for the purpose
of cleansing and scouring the same, in such a manner that no damage may accure
to the said Martha her heirs and assigns, To hold to him the said George his
heirs and assigns forever he the said George his heirs and assigns yielding
and paying therefor to the said Martha her heirs and assigns yearly and every
year forever on the eighth day of June in each year one Spanish milled dollar,
or if the said Martha her heirs or assigns choose, he the said George his
heirs and assigns shall saw for her then three hundred feet of boards, she or
they providing the timber for that purpose. In witness whereof the parties to
these presents have hereto interchangeably set their hands and seals. Dated

Northumberland Co PA Deeds K-302(first), dated 2 Jul 1795:
This Indenture made this second day of July in the Year of our Lord one
thousand seven hundred and ninety five Between George Long and Catharine his
Wife of Buffalo Township in the County of Northumberland and State of
Pennsylvania of the one part and George Overmire Senr of the Township of
Buffaloe in the County of Northumberland and State of Pennsylvania of the
other part, Witnesseth the Honorable the Proprietors of the Province of
Pennsylvania now State by their Letters Patent did grant and confirm unto
George Albright a certain piece or parcel of land lying and being in the
Township of Buffalo aforesaid adjoining Batie's Land and others containing 226
acres with an allowance of six per cent as by said patent or grant recorded in
the Rolls Office for that purpose in Patent Book AA Vol 14 page 551 the 8th
day of July 1774 may appear and the said George Albright and Christina his
Wife by their Deed of the 28th of April 1788 recorded in the Office for
Recording of Deeds in the County of Northumberland in Book E page 276, the 7th
day of October A.D. 1791, conveyed the same unto George Long, the present
Grantor, Now this Indenture Witnesseth that the said George Long and Catharine
his Wife for the sum and Consideration of five pounds to them well and truly
in hand paid by George Overmire Senr the Receipt and payment whereof is hereby
acknowledged and ourselves fully and entirely satisfied have granted,
bargained, sold, released, and confirmed, and by these presents doth grant,
bargain, sell, release, and confirm unto the said George Overmire Senr and to
this Heirs and Assigns all that Lot piece or portion of Ground situate lying
and being in Buffalo Township aforesaid, in the Town of Berlin in the State of
Pennsylvania aforesaid, and marked in the General Plan Number "Sixteen"
bounded northwardly by Church Alley northwardly by Wine Street, South on
Market Street and adjoining the Lot number 17, containing in length one
hundred and forty eight and a half of feet and in breadth sixty six feet, It
being part of the above described Tract of land which the said George Long
bought of George Albright as above said George Overmire Senr, Together with
all and Singular the Ways Woods Waters and Water Courses, Rights, Liberties,
Privileges, and Appurtenances whatsoever thereunto belonging or in any wise
appertaining, and all the Rents, Issues, and Profits thereof, To have and to
hold this above described lot and premises hereby granted and sold or intended
so to be with the Appurtenances unto the said George Overmire Senr and his
Heirs and Assigns, to the only propose use and benefit and behoof of him the
said George Overmire Senr his Heirs and Assigns forever, and the said George
Long, by these Presents doth hereby Covenant grant and agree to and with
George Overmire Senr his Heirs and Assigns that he the above described Lot of
Ground hereby granted and sold shall and will Warrant and forever defend from
all and every other manner of persons whatsoever lawfully claiming or to claim
the same. In Witness whereof, the said parties to these Presents have
Interchangeably set their hands and Seals the day and year first above

Received the Second day of July 1795, the sum of Five Pounds being the full
for the Consideration Money above mentioned George Long.
On the second day of July 1795, personally appeared before me Jacob Bishop
one of the Justice for the county of Northumberland and in due form of law
acknowledged the foregoing deed to be their act and deed and desired the same
might be recorded as such according to law. The said Catharine being separate
and apart form her Husband examined by me and the contents to her fully made

In the Name of God, Amen. I George Overmier, of Buffalo Township in the
County of Northumberland, and State of Pennsylvania, and become through age
and infirmities weak in Body, but thanks to God of sound and disposing memory
and memory, therefore calling to Mind the mortality of my Body and knowing
that it is appointed for all Men once to Die, do make and ordain this
Instrument of Writing to be my last Will and Testament, And as touching such
Worldly Estate wherewith I have been blessed with and now in possession of, I
give devise and dispose of in the following Manner and form: To wit, first It
is my will and I order and allow my funeral Charges and Just debts to be paid,
out of the whole of my Estate. Secondly, It is my Will and I order and allow
my beloved Wife Barbara, to live and remain in my Mantion House wherein I now
live during her Natural life, but should another House be provided for her on
the premises to her satisfaction she may go and live there if she deems
proper, in order to be more related. And she is to have one Horse or Mare of
her choice of all I have; and one Cow her choice also. Two Beds and Bedstands
and all the furniture thereto belonging her choice, and as much of the
household and Kitchen furniture as she shall chose. One Tea Table, One Tea
Kettle, Tea Decophage, my chest and what chairs she wants, and whatever other
necessarys she may choose; And I further and allow my beloved Wife her Horse
and Cow to be maintained and Supported out of the rents Issues and profits of
my Estate with every necessary she shall stand in need of in prosperity or
adversity such as Bread and Firewood laid to her Door, a quarter of an Acre of
Hay, Sow'd yearly and broke in Good order, and laid in the House. Ten Bushels
of Potatoes, Three Barrels of Sider, and thirty Bushels of Apples yearly if
the grow ___ her choice of half of the Garden, and in case she should be
Needcessitated for a girl to help her in her old Age she is to be Supplied
immediately with one by my Executors or the Survivors of them at the expense
of my whole Estate, And I fully empower my Executors or the Survivor of them
to see my beloved wife have ample Justice done her according to this my Will
and directions. Item It is my will and I devise and bequeath unto my beloved
son George one hundred eighteen acres and one hundred and forty perches of
Land agreeable to a Draught lately made by Frederick Evans, it being the same
tract of land wherein my said son now lives which I empower him my said son
George to grant bargain sell and convey Land aforesaid as soon as possible and
to the best advantage and made to the purchases a sufficient title in fee
Simple as I myself could or might do were I personally present and Monies
arising therefrom I order to be disposed of as follows to wit: One hundred
pounds I first allow as soon as received to my said Son George, and thirty
pounds to my beloved Wife and the remainder to be divided amongst all my
Children Male and Female share and share alike from time to time as received.
Item I give and bequeath unto my son Peter One hundred Acres and forty nine
perches of Land agreeable to a Draught lately made by Frederick Evans being
the same place whereas my said son Peter now lives, which I empower him to
grant bargain sell and convey the Land aforesaid as soon as possible, and to
the best advantage and make to the purchaser thereof a sufficient Title in fee
as I myself might or could do were I personally present, and the monies
arising therefrom I order and allow to be disposed of as follows, to wit, one
hundred pounds I allow to my said son Peter out of the first Money received,
and the remainder thereof to be divided amongst all my Children Male and
Female share and share alike, from time to time as received. Item It is my
Will and Order and allow my Executors hereinafter named or the Survivors of
them to have all my right and power to grant bargain sell and convey at public
or private sale as they shall Judge best and to the best advantage all my real
and personal Estate as soon after my Decease as may be convenient and full
power to make Sufficient Titles in fee to the purchaser or purchasers thereof
and the money arising from the sale of my real Estate I give and devise unto
my beloved Wife and Sons and Daughters to wit: George, Peter, Philip, John,
David, Jacob, Catharine, Margaret's Children, Elizabeth, Eve, Ester,
Magdalena, and Barbara, and every of them share and share alike to them and
each of them their heirs and assigns forever, Excepting my son John. First I
allow to my said son John over and above his share last above mentioned
Eighteen pounds to be first taken out of the whole and the residue to be
divided as afore directed. And also I give unto my said son Jacob over his
share above mentioned my Rifle Gun, Power Horn, Shotpound and Bullet Molds,
and it is my Will and I order and allow my Executors herein after mentioned or
the survivors of them that as soon as they receive the first sale of my real
Estate that they pay the whole of it to my beloved Wife and my six Sons above
mentioned share and share alike, and the remainder of my real Estate I allow
to be paid when received by my Executors from time to time until all my Sons
and Daughters aforesaid share and share alike unto them their heirs and
assigns forever. Item It is my Will further and I order and allow my Executor
hereinafter mentioned or the Survivor of them that after the Sale of my
Personal Estate above mentioned the Monies arising therefrom I give and
bequeath as follows, to wit: first unto my beloved Wife the one full third of
all the monies arising therefrom; and the residue of my said personal Estate I
order to be equally divided amongst all my Sons and Daughters before mentioned
share and share alike to them their heirs and assigns forever. All my
legacies herein bequeathed I order and allow to be received and paid without
delay. It is my Will that if in case any of my said Children should die
before Marriage and without lawful Issue then and in that case I order and
allow their share of this my Estate to be equally divided between all my
surviving children share and share alike. It is my Will further that if in
case any one or more of my Children herein before mentioned should not agree
or be satisfied with this my last Will and Testament and with the legacies by
me to them bequeathed but attempts to break this my Will and make disturbances
in my Family by commencing law Suits or abusing or treating any one or more of
my family in an unbecoming way and manner, then and in that case it is my Will
and I do hereby declare and pronounce him or her so offending their share or
shares of my Estate herein before by me bequeathed to be fully and absolutely
for ever forfeited to all intents and purposes, and their share or shares I
order and allow my Executor or the Survivor of them who I give full power to
sell and convey to the best advantage and the Money arising therefrom to be
equally divided between my beloved Wife and the rest of my well behaving
Children share and share alike. And lastly I do hereby nominate Constitute
and appoint my beloved Sons George, Peter, and John to be my whole and sole
executors of this my last Will and Testament hereby revoking and making null
and void all former and other wills by me heretofore made ratifying
acknowledging and pronouncing this and no other to be my last Will and

Simpson Register for the county afsd personally appeared Henry Vanderslier and
Jesse Simpson two of the subscribing Witnesses to the foregoing Will who being
duly sworn according to law saith they were personally present and did see
George Overmier the Testator Sign Seal and declare the foregoing writing to be
his Last Will and Testament, that at the time of his so publishing the said
Will he was of sound and disposing mind and memory as does believe according
to the best of their knowledge and understanding that Nicholas Miller wrote
his name as a Witness at thje same time and that the Names Henry Vanderslice
and Jesse Simpson wrote as Witnesses are their respective hand Writings and

Be it Remembered that on the 29th day of November in the Year of our Lord
1805 the last Will and Testament of George Overmier was duly proved and
approved before me of which the foregoing is a true record and Letters

This Indenture made the fourth day of April in the year of our Lord one
thousand eight hundred and ten Between John Overmyer of New Barton Buffalo
Township in the County of Northumberland and State of Pennsylvania Executor of
the Last will and Testament of George Overmyer deceased of the one part and
Jacob Kline of the Township County and State aforesaid of the other part,
Whereas the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania by two sundry patents one whereof
bearing date the seventh Day of May in the Year of our Lord One thousand seven
hundred and eighty nine Did grant unto the said George Overmyer a certain
tract of land called Barkin on Lick Run in Buffalo Township Containing three
hundred and eighty nine acres and allowance, and by one other Patent bearing
date the twenty third day of June in the year of our Lord one thousand eight
hundred and seven did grant unto the said George Overmyer an adjoining tract
of land called Georgetown for twenty six acre of land and the allowance, By
force and virtue of which recited patents and some other good conveyances and
Assurances in the Law duly had and executed the said George Overmyer became in
his lifetime lawfully seized in his demesne as of fee of and in the said two
tracts of land with the appurtenances and being so thereof seized made his
last will and testament in writing bearing date the day of In
the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and ninety wherein and whereby
amongst other things did order and direct in the words following viz It is my
will and order and allow my executor herein after named or the survivor of
them to have all my Right and power to grant bargain sell and convey at public
or private sale as they shall judge best and to the best advantage all my real
and permanent estate as soon after my decease as may be convenient and full
power to make sufficient title to such the purchaser or purchasers thereof,
and remains in the Registers official Suntury(?) in and for the County of
Northumberland, Now this Indenture Witnesseth that the said John Overmier and
George Overmier for and in Consideration of the sum of two thousand and eight
hundred pounds lawful Money Current in the State of Pennsylvania unto them I
hand will and truly paid at and before the ensealing and delivery hereof, the
receipt and payment whereof is hereby acknowledged and thereof they do acquit
and forever discharge the said Jacob Kline his heirs and assigns all and every
of them by these presents, have granted bargained sold aliened enfeoffed
released and confirmed and by these presents do grant bargain sell alien
enfeoff release and confirm unto the said Jacob Kline his heirs and assigns
all that Certain tract or piece of Land situate in Buffalo Township Beginning
at a post in the line of John Benners Land North eighty eight degrees east one

covenant promise grant and agree to and with the said Jacob Kline his heirs
and assigns that they the said John and George Overmier and their heirs the
aforesaid described tract or piece of land with the appurtenances unto the
said Jacob Kline his heirs and assigns against them the said John Overmier and
George Overmier and their heirs and any other person or persons whomsoever
lawfully claiming or to claim by from or under him them or any or either of
