May Term 1837; Jacobb Harpster, decd, Petition for Inquest. A petition was

Orphan Court of the County of Union held at New Berlin in and for said County
the sixteenth day of May 1837. The petition of Jacob Herbster son and heir at
law of Jacob Herbster late of Beaver Township deceased, humbly showeth that
your petitioner's said father died intestate about the year anno Domini
eighteen hundred and thirty two, leaving a widow who hath also since died and
issue twelve children to wit, Peter, Frederick, who was intermarried with
Susan Thomas but hath since died leaving issue eight children to wit, George,
David, Jacob, John, Eve, Elizabeth, Catherine, and Polly Herbster; Barbara
intermarried with John Hoffman; Sally intermarried with George Hoffman; David,
Eve, who was intermarried with Peter Kepler but hath also since died leaving
issue four children, to wit, Leonard, Hyram, Lucinda, and Sally Kepler; Jacob
your petitioner, John who was intermarried with Peggy Traister but hath also
since died leaving issue five children, to wit, Solomon, Peter, Philip,
Catherine, and Polly; George, Philip, Anthony, Elizabeth intermarried with
John Lawer; and that the said intestate died seized in his demesnes of fee of
and in a certain messuage plantation and tract of land situate in the township
and County aforesaid bounded by lands of Henry Rouch, Donald Stainingetr,

acres should the same be more or less with the appurtenances. Your petitioner
therefore prays your honour to award an inquest to make partition of the
premises aforesaid, to and among the children and representatives of the said
intestate in such manner and in such proportions as by the laws of this
commonwealth is demanded if such partition can be made without prejudice to or

accommodate more than one of the children of the said intestate, and if so how
many of the said children it will conveniently accommodate. And make report
of their proceedings to the next general Orphans Court, and he will pray.
Whereupon May 17 1837 the said petition being read and heard the prayer of the
petitioner is granted and Inquest awarded. By the Court. [Ref: UnionCoPA
