This Indenture made this Eighteenth day of September in the Year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and nineteen Between Anthony Bowsher and Christina Bowsher his wife of the County of Pickaway and State of Ohio of the one part and Peter Herbster and John Bowsher of the County of Pickaway and State aforesaid of the other part, Witnesseth that the said Anthony Bowsher and Christina Bowsher for and in consideration of the sum of Five hundred dollars current money of the United States of America to them in hand paid the receipt whereof they hereby acknowledge and forever acquit and discharge the said Peter Herbster and John Bowsher their heirs executors and administrators, have granted bargained sold aliened and confirmed and by these presents doth grant, bargain, sell, alien, and confirm unto the said Peter Herbster and John Bowsher their heirs and assigns forever all that tract or parcel of land lying and being in the County of Pickaway and State aforesaid viz, Beginning at the Lower corner of fractional section Number one of Township Number four in Range number twenty two, Worthington's Survey, running North sixty seven poles to a large blue ash, thence North fifty four degrees west seventy six poles to a papaw, thence North thirty six degrees West firty poles to a Walnut, thence North forty three degrees west four poles to a blue ash corner to Peter Henry and Jacob Bowshers land, thence South seventy four degrees west seventy poles to a Hickory fifteen inches in diameter on the bank of the Scioto River thence down the with the meanders thereof to the beginning containing forty one acres, The above described land was conveyed by the President of the United States to the said Anthony Bowsher by patent bearing date April 30th A.D. 1813, Together with all improvements water courses profits and appurtenances whatsoever to the said premises belonging or in any wise appertaining unto the reversions remainders and profits thereof and all the Estate rights Title interest probate and claim and demand of them the said Anthony Bowsher and Christina Bowsher in of and to the same, To Have and to Hold the lands hereby conveyed with all and singular the premises and every part and parcel thereof with every of the appurtenances unto the said Peter Herbster and John Bowsher their heirs and assigns forever, to the only proper use and behoof of them the said Peter Herbster and John Bowsher their heirs and assigns forever, And the said Anthony Bowsher and Christina Bowsher for their heirs executors and administrators do covenant promise and agree to and with the said Peter Herbster and John Bowsher their heirs and Assigns by these presents that the premises before mentioned now and forever hereafter Shall remain free of and from all former and other gifts grants bargains sales dowers right and title of dower judgements executions titles troubles charges and encumbrances whatsoever done or settled to be done by them the said Anthony Bowsher and Christine Bowsher and their heirs all and singular the premises hereby bargained and sold with the appurtenances unto the said Peter Herbster and John Bowsher their heirs and assigns against them the said Anthony Bowsher and Christine Bowsher and their heirs and all and every other person or persons whatsoever doth and will warrant and forever defend by these presents. This Indenture made the 25th day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty three between Peter Harpster and Elizabeth Harpster his wife of the County of Pickaway and State of Ohio of the first part and Anderson Dana Jr of the County of Luzerne and State of Pennsylvania of the other part, Witnesseth that the said Peter Harpster and Elizabeth Harpster for and in consideration of the sum of six hundred and fifty dollars current money of the United States of America to them in hand paid the receipt of which they hereby acknowledge and forever acquit and discharge the said Anderson Dana Jr his heirs executors and administrators, have granted bargained sold aliened enfeoffed confirmed and by these presents to grant bargain sell alien enfeoff and confirm unto the said Anderson Dana Jr his heirs and assigns forever all that tract or parcel of land being and lying in the County of Pickaway and State of Ohio bounded and described as follows, viz, Beginning at the north-east corner of Henry Bowsher's land, in fractional section number one of Township number four in Range number twenty two, Worthington Survey, running north sixty eight poles to a post where a white oak twenty inches in diameter bears South ten degrees west thirty six links thence West one hundred and forty two poles to a post on a feramer(?) thence twenty degrees east seventy two poles to a post thence East one hundred and nineteen poles to the beginning, containing fifty five and five tenth acres being the same tract of land conveyed by the President of the United States to Anthony Bowsher by Patent bearing the date April 20th A.D. 1813 and conveyed by said Anthony Bowsher to said Peter Harpster by deed bearing the date September 18th A.D. 1819, Together with all improvements, water courses, and appurtenances whatsoever to the said premises belonging or in any wise appertaining and the reversions remainders profits thereof and all the estate rights hereditaments property claim and demands of them the said Peter Harpster and Elizabeth Harpster of in and to the same, To have and to hold the said lands hereby conveyed with all and singular the premises and every part and parcel thereof with every of the appurtenances unto the said Anderson Dana Jr his heirs and assigns forever to the only proper use and behoof of him the said Anderson Dana Jr his heirs and assigns forever, And the said Peter Harpster and Elizabeth Harpster for their heirs Executors and administrators do covenant promise and agree to and with the said Anderson Dana jr his Heirs and assigns by these presents that the premises herein mentioned now and forever hereafter shall remain free and from all former and other gifts grants bargains sales dowers right and title of dower judgements executions titles troubles charges and encumbrances whatsoever done or settled to be done by them the said Peter Harpster and Elizabeth Harpster, And the said Peter Harpster and Elizabeth Harpster and their heirs all and singular the premises hereby bargained and sold with the appurtenances unto the said Anderson Dana Jr his heirs and assigns against them the said Peter Harpster and Elizabeth Harpster and their heirs and all and every other person or persons whomsoever do and will warrant and forever defend by these presents. Personally appeared before me the subscriber a Justice of the Peace in and for said County Peter Harpster and Elizabeth Harpster who acknowledged the signing and sealing of the within Indenture to be their voluntary act and deed for the purposes therein described and desired that the same be put into record as such. I hereby certify that I am satisfied from personal knowledge that the above named Peter Harpster and Elizabeth Harpster are the identical persons they represent themselves to be. I do further certify that I am satisfied from personal knowledge that the said John Bowsher and Catharine his wife are the persons they represent themselves to be. Also Peter Harpster and Elizabeth Harpster appeared before me the undersigned, a Justice of the Peace in and for said County, and acknowledged the signing and sealing of the foregoing deed of conveyance, and the said Elizabeth wife of the said Peter Harpster after being by me examined separate and apart from her husband and after having the contents of the foregoing deed fully explained and made known to her, declared that she did voluntarily sign seal and acknowledge the same and that she is still satisfied therewith. I do further certify that I am satisfied from personal knowledge that the said Peter Harpster and Elizabeth his wife are the persons they represent themselves to be.
