1833: they moved to Allen County and established one of the early pioneer homes of the County. Here it was that George grew to maturity amid the early developing influences of the county the Indians had just vacated. [Ref: Burkhardt BOUCHER p158]

May 2 1864: served in Company C, 151 Ohio Volunteer Infantry; discharged Aug 27 1864 [Ref: Harter REICHELDERFER p119]

On May 2, 1864, George entered the service of his country by joining Company C, of the 151st O.V.I. He was mustered out at Camp Chase, Columbus, OH, on August 27, 1864, and returned to his family. [Ref: Burkhardt BOUCHER p158]
