----- Will dated 20 Dec 1880, Fayette County, Illinois, pro 22 Sep 1881:
I Conrad Harpster of Low Grove Township in the County of Fayette and State of Illinois being of sound mind and memory, do hereby make known and declare this my Last Will and Testament in manner and form following, to wit.
First. It my will and desire that all my just debts and funeral expenses be fully paid.
Second. I hereby give and bequeath unto my beloved wife Sabina Harpster the farm upon which we now reside, and better described as follows, to wit, The South East Quarter of the North West Quarter of Section No Nineteen, also the North West Quarter of the South East Quarter of Section Nineteen, and the South West Quarter of the North East Quarter of Section Nineteen all in Township Five, North of Range No Three East of the Third Principal Meridian, and also the North East Quarter of the South East Quarter of Section Eleven in Township Five, North of Range Two East of the Third Principal Meridian containing in all two hundred 18 and one half acres, also all my personal property of every description including household Kitchen furniture during her natural life to sell and dispose of said for her own use and benefit, And after her decease I desire that whatever of my estate is left to be divided as follows, to wit, I grant give unto my son George Harpster the sum of Two Hundred Dollars, and to my son David Harpster One Hundred and Ninety Four Dollars, and to my son Henry Harpster the sum of Two Hundred Dollars, and to my daughter Elizabeth Smith Two Hundred Thirty Seven Dollars and Seventy Five cents, and to my daughter May M Hunt the sum of Two Hundred and Forty Dollars, and to my son John W Harpster the sum of Four Hundred and Ten Dollars, and the balance of whatever is left of my estate to be equally divided between my eight children, to wit, Benjamin F Harpster, George Harpster, David Harpster, Henry Harpster, John W Harpster, Elizabeth Smith, Julia Bledsoe, and Mary M Hunt. I further desire and request that my executor retain enough money out of my estate have erected at my own grave, and that of my said wife a suitable gravestone of plain style. Hereby revoking all other wilsl by me made and ratifying this my last will and testament, I also constitute and appoint my said wife executrix of this my last will and Testament. In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 20th day of December 1880. Conrad Harpster.
State of Illinois, Fayette County, SS. We, Clifton R Wills and Michael M Murphy in the presence of Almightly God, and in the presence of each other subscribe out names as witnesses to the aforegoing Will and Testament of Conrad Harpster, this 20th day of December, 1880. M. M. Murphy. C. R. Wills.
State of Illinois, Fayette County, SS. In the County Court of said County. In Probate Sept Term A.D. 1881. Personally appeared in open Court Michael M. Murphy and Clifton R. Wills subscribing witnesses to the annexed instrument of writing, purporting to be the last will and testament of Conrad Harpster, late of said County, deceased, who being duly sworn according to law, do depose and say, each for himself, that he was present and saw the said testator sign said will in their presence and the said testator then acknowledge the said will to be his act and deed, and the said witnesses then attested said will in the presence of said testator, and at his request, and that they believe that the said testator was of sound mind and memory, of lawful age, and under no constraint when he acknowledged said will on the 20th day of December 1880.
