Robert E. Solomon
Oct. 13, 1916 - Oct. 11, 2002
Robert E. Solomon, 85, of Cairo, died 5:48 p.m. Friday at Lima Memorial Hospital.
He was born Oct. 13, 1916 in West Cairo, to Ervin E. and Myrtle (Snyder) Solomon. He married Edith Stockler, who survives.
Other survivors include three sons, Jon (Deborah) Solomon of Elida, Don Solomon of Monclova and Mark (Tami) Solomon of Cairo; a daughter, Sharon Foltz of Lima; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; and a niece, Bonnie (Thomas) McAdams and nephew Robert (Charlotte) Paullin.
He was preceded in death by a son, Robert Daniel Solomon; three sisters and a brother.
Mr. Solomon retired in 1983 from Westinghouse Corp., Lima, after 43 years. He was affiliated with the Cairo United Methodist Church of Christ. He enjoyed hunting, trapping and fishing as well as taking trips and traveling. He was a member of the National Rifle Association.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Hartman Sons Funeral Home, Columbus Grove, the Rev. James Klausing officiating. Burial will be in Cairo East Side Cemetery.
Friends may call 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. today at the funeral home. Preferred memorials are to donor's choice. [Ref: George Jochum 10/19/2002]
