Oct 9 1913: affidavent of Dennis Carkhuff and Homer Collins, aged 76 and 63 years, that they were acquainted with and knew above cited soldier from the time he became of marriageable age until his death; that said soldier married Mary C Collins on April 21, 1864, which marriage was terminated by death of said wife on February 24, 1880, and that they were present at the funeral of said wife; that said soldier married Isabel Harsh as his second wife on May 11, 1880, and that he was never separated or divorced from said second wife from the time of marriage until his death; and that they are not interested either directly or indirectly in the prosecution of this claim.
