settled in Colerain Township in southern Lancaster Co, PA, before 1756.
Thomas (or his parents) may have fled to America from Ireland in early part of
the eighteenth century, part of the wave of Scots-Irish in 1717, or in the
famine-induced immigration of the 1740s [Ref: WilsonPM WILSON p63]
Information on Thomas and his descendants to 1880s came from an eleven-page
manuscript developed from information gathered at the Wilson family reunions
of 1886 and 1888, called "Wilson Family History", authored by one of the

Know all men by these Presents That I David Hamilton of the Township of
Drumore in the County of Lancaster and Province of Pennsylvania yeoman for and
in consideration of the sum of ninety seven pound, ten shillings good and
lawfull money of the Province aforesaid to me in hand paid by Thomas Wellson
of Coulrain Township and Hugh Forquher of Drumore afforesaid both in the
County before mentioned at and before the ensealing and delivering of these
presents wherewith I confess myself to be fully satisfyed, contented and paid
have bargained and sold and by these presents do fully clearly and absolutely
bargain sell unto the said Thomas Willson and Hugh Forquher all that
plantation which I now live on Subject to a deed of conveyance by Joseph
Miller adjoining the lands of James Marshal Andw Work Thos Moderwell and
others and Containing two hundred acres more or less likewise two copper sills
and worms belonging thirty five apple vessels, one apple mill and traugh one
pupolar cubbard, one popular fram'd table and one oak ditto, one large pine
fram'd chest and one small do one dozen chairs one wollen wheel two spinning
do, one check rell five iron potts, one half dozen large putter dishes nine
small do, one frything pan one mettall gradle and all the dresser or citchin
furniture, three feather beds and pillows three white ruggs, six pair of
double blankets three suets, mens clooths two dozen linin shurts and shifts,
two silk gowns and two cottens do, two silk clooks and two clooths do, half
dozen petticoates one fine womans gilt loop'd hatt likewise all the fall crop
that is in the gounr diwht nine hoggs and nine sheep, To Have and to Hold the
said goods and chattels and the plantation with the appurtenances thereunto
belonging to the said Thomas Willson and Hugh Farquher their executors
administrators and assigns to them and their own proper use and behoofs
forever and I the said David Hamilton my heirs execrs and admrs and every of
us the said land goods and chattles to the said Thos Willson and Hugh Forquher
their exors admors against all people shall and will warrant acquit and
forever defend by these presents always that if the said David Hamnilton his
heirs exors admors etc or and will do well and truly pay or cause to be paid
unto the said Thos Willson and Hugh Forquher their heirs exors admors or
assigns the afforesaid sum of ninety seven pouds ten shillings at or on the
first day of October next ensuing ye date thereof without fraud or cozan that
the present will and bargain and sale of said land goods and chattles befgore
mentioned shall be utterly void and of none effect or elese to stand and abide
in full force and virtue given under my hand and seal this twenty second day
of October in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and seventy

This Indenture made the thirty first day of January in the year of our Lord
one thousand seven hundred and eighty one Between Thomas Wilson of the
Township of Colerain in the County of Lancaster and State of Pennsylvania
yeoman and Elinor his wife of the one part and Hugh Wilson his sone of the
same Township County and State aforesaid yeoman of the other part, Witnesseth
that the said Thomas Wilson and Elinor his wife for and in consideration of
the sum of one thousand six hundred pounds specie or hard money lawful money
of Pennsylvania to them in hand paid at or before the sealing and delivery
hereof by the said Hugh Wilson the receipt whereof they do hereby acknowledge
themselves fully satisfied and from every part and aprcil thereof do release
and discharge the said Hugh Wilson his heirs and assigns by these presents
have granted bargained and sold aliended released and confirmed and yb these
presents do grant bargain and sell alien release and confirm unto the said
Hugh Wilson heirs and assigns All that the improvement, plantation and tract
of land conveyed to the said Thomas Wilson by a certain Daniel McClelan by a
Bill of Sale bearing date the twelfth day of October one thousand seven
hundred and sixty seven reference being thereunto had will more fully appear
the abovesaid tract of land situate and lyeth in Colrain Township afforesaid

person or person whomsoever having or claiming or that shall or may at any
time hereafter lawfully claim the same or any part thereof by from or under

voluntarily consenting, she being of full age and being by me privately and
apart from her husband examined and the contents of the said wrighting made

In the name of God Amen. I Thomas Wilson of Colrain Township and County of
Lancaster and State of Pennsylvania being Weak in Body but of Sound and
perfect mind and memory Beessed be Almighty God for the Same do make and
publish this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following (that is
to say) first I give and bequeath unto my beloved wife Elinor the sum of forty
pounds together with one Cow and two Sheep and my Blakc Mare (and at the death
of my Said Wife the Said Mare is to descend to my Grandson Thomas Wilson),
together with her Bed and Bed Cloaths and all her wearing apparel with her own
Room and privileges of the house as formerly and Sufficient maintenance off
the plantation and her horse and Cow and Sheep kept as formerly during her
natural live, and if my Said Wife will not live in her Room and house as
formerly, but moveth therefrom She is to Enjoy no Longer Privileges off or
from Said Plantation. I do also Bequeath to my oldest Son Andrew Wilson the
sum of Sixty pounds. I also give and Bequeath to my daughter Jean Wilson the
Sum of forty pounds. I also Give and Bequeath to my daughter Nancy Wilson the
sum of Sixty pounds. I also give and Bequeath to my daughter Margaret Wilson
the sum of Sixty pounds. I also give and Bequeath to my daughter Sarah Wilson
the Sum of Sixty pounds. I also give and Bequeath to my Grandson Thomas
Wilson the Sum of five pounds together with my large Bible my Saddle and Chist
Walnut Table my large pott Brass Candlestick and Sleve Buttons. I also give
to my Grandson Andrew Wilson the sum of five pounds. I also give to my
Grandson Hugh Wilson the Sum of five pounds. I also give to my grandaughter
Eloner Wilson the Sum of five pounds with my Griddel and Second largest pott.
I also give to my granddson William Wilson the Sum of five pounds. I also
give and Bequeath to my Son John Wilson the Sum of two pounds. And lastly as
to all the Rest Residue and Remainders of my personal Estate goods and
Chattels of what kind or nature soever. I give and Bequeath to my Son Hugh
Wilson also I Will and allow that my after named Executors Shall one year
after my decease pay unto my above named Daughters Jean and Nancy Wilson the
Sum of fifteen pounds each and twelve months after that payment I allow Shall
be paid to my other two daughters, Margaret and Sarah Wilson, the Sum of
fifteen pounds each. I also allow my Ex four years after my death to pay as
my Said Son Andrew Wilson the Sum of five pounds and the said fourth year
after my death I allow to pay to my Beloved Wife Eloner Wilson and my four
Daughters Jean Wilson Nancy Wilson Margaret and Sarah Wilson to be paid five
pounds and each and from thence forward. I will and allow to be paid yearly
and every year to the above named Eloner Wilson Andrew Jean Nancy Margaret and
Sarah Wilson the Sum of five pounds Each until their above named Eloner Wilson
Andrew Jean Nancy Margaret and Sarah Wilsons the Sum of five pounds Each until
eheir above montioned legacies are fully paid. If the Said Andrew Wilson,
Should die before his legacies is fully paid what Remaineth unpaid at his
Death is to descend to the Children of Hugh Wilson Equal. Likewise I Will and
allow that all the above Said Legacies is to be paid before that mentioned to
my Grand Children which is to be last paid. And I nominate and appoint John
Patterson and Samuel McGledan Sole Executors of this my last Will and
testament hereby Revoking all former Wills by me made. In Witness whereof I

they were present and Saw and heard the above named Thomas Wilson the Testator
above mentioned Sign Seal publish pronounce and declare the above and
foregoing Writing as and for his last Will and Testament and that at the doing
thereof he was of Sound and well disposing mind memory and understanding to

Be it Remembered that on the Seventeenth day of February Anno Domini 1784
the Last Will and Testament of Thomas Wilson late of Colrain Township deceased
was proved in due form of Law and Letters Testamentary thereon were Granted to
John Patterson and Samuel McClellan the Executors in the said Will named they
having first been duly Qualified well and truly to Administer the Estate of
the said Deceased and Especially to Exhibit a true and perfect Inventory
thereof into the Registers Office at Lancaster within one month from the date
hereof and Render a Just and true Account of their Administration on said
Estate within one year or when thereunto lawfully Required Given under the
