On this 14th day of March A.D. one thousand eight hundred
State of Pennsylvania.
On this 14th day of March A.D. one thousand eight hundred and fifty one
(1851) personally appeared before me, a Justice of the Peace within and for
the county and state aforesaid MARY ORR, age 66 years, a resident of MERCER
COUNTY in the State of PENNSYLVANIA, who being duly sworn according to law,
declares that she is the widow of WILLIAM ORAR, deceased who was a __ in the
Company commanded by Captain JOS. DENNISTON, in the 134th REIGMENT of
PENNSYLVANIA MILITIA commanded by CO/. THOMAS HOSACK in the war with Great
Britain declared by the United States, on the 18th day of June, 1812, that her
said husband WAS DRAFTED at MERCER on or about the __ Day of JULY A.D. 1813
for a term of NINETEEN days and continued in actual service in said war for
the term of SAID TERM and was honorably discharged at ERIE on or about the 6th
DAY OF AUGUST A.D. and THEN AGAIN WAS DRAFTER AT MERCER ON THE 2 DAY OF JULSY
1814 AND SERVED 40 DAYS MORE UNDER SAME OFFICERS AND WAS HORORABLE DISCHARGED
AT ERIE ON THE 13 DAY OF FEBRUARY 1814 HAVING SERVED 40 DAYS.
She further state states that she was married to the said WILLIAM ORR in
MERALAND on the __ Day of A. D. by one __ a __ and that her name before her
said marriage was MARY ORICK. That her husband died at SAID COUNTY on or ABOUT
the 19th day of OCTOBER A.D. 1849 and that she is still a widow.

She makes this declaration for the purpose of obtaining the bounty land to
which she may be entitled under the "Act granting bounty land to certain
officers and soldiers who have been engaged in the military service of the
United States", passed September 28th, 1850. Sworn to and subscribed before me

Before me a Justice of the peace within and for said county and state
personally appeared Mrs. Jane Forrest, aged 72, and to me well known who by
duly sworn according to law saith that she became acquainted with William Orr
and Mary Orrick afterward Mary Orr before their marriage which occurred in Jun
1879 that she was present at said marriage and witnessed the ceremony which
was performed by Philip Scott, a Justice of the Peace and that she has been
acquainted with them ever since; that from said time to the death of William
Orr, which occurred in October 1849, they lived together as husband and wife,
and that she was present at the funeral of said William Orr in October 1849,
and saw him buried and that she has known said Mary Orr ever since and known
that she is now a widow. All the foregoing facts she knows from her own actual
personal knowledge, having lived in their immediate neighborhood and known the
parties all the time.

Before me a Justice of the peace within and for said county and state
personally appeared John Forrest and Elias Orr to me well known being duly
sworn according to law say that they have known William Orr and Mary Orr, said
Forrest for 57 years and Said Orr for 35 years; that since that time until the
death of said William Orr the said parties lived together as husband and wife
and as such were known and recognized by all their friends and acquaintances,
and as such lived together. That said William Orr died in October 1849 and
that from that time to the present said Mary has remained his widow and is now
his widow. That Elias Orr was present at the death of said William Orr which
occurred as stated above in October 1849. All these facts we know personally
from our personal knowledge having lived in the immediate neighborhood of the
parties all the time mentioned above. Signed John Forrest and Elias Orr.

certify that said Jane Forrest, John Forrest and Elias Orr are credible
witnesses and are to me well known and that they have no interest in this

fifty five personally appeared before me, a Justice of the Peace, within and
for the county and state aforesaid, MARY ORR, aged 74 years, a resident of
Mercer County in the State of Pennsylvania, who being duly sworn according to
law, declares that she is the widow of William ORR, dec'd, who was a Private
in the company commanded by Captain James Denniston in the 134th Regiment of
Pennsylvania Militia, commanded by Col. Anderson Christy in the War with Great
Britain, declared by the United States on the 18th day of June 1812; that he
was drafted at Mercer on or about the 1st Day of January 1814 for the term of
one month, and continued in actual service in said war for fourteen days, and
was honorably discharged at Erie on the 13th Day of February 1814. She further
states that she was married to the said William Or in Pennsylvania on the __
Day of June A. D. 1798 by one Philip Scott, J. P., and that her name before
her marriage was MARY ORRICK; that her said husband died at Springfield,
Mercer Co., on the __ Day of October 1849, and that she is now a widow. That
she has no knowledge of a public or private record of said marriage or death
of her husband. She further states that she has heretofore made application
for bounty land under the act approved September 28, 1850, and obtained a land
warrant for forty acres, no __, which she has legally disposed of, and it
cannot now be returned, nor can she give the number of said warrant. She makes
this declaration for the purpose of obtaining the bounty land to which she may
be entitled under the act approved March 3, 1855. (She signed this
declaration with her mark).
We John Forrest and Elias Orr, residents of Mercer County, in the State of
Pennsylvania, upon our oaths declare that the foregoing declaration was signed
and acknowledged by Mary Orr in our presence, and that we believe, for the
appearance and statements of the applicant, that she is the identical person
she represents herself to be. Signed by John Forrest and Elias Orr.
The foregoing declaration and affidavit were sworn and subscribed before me
on the day and year above written; and I certify that I know the Applicants to
be credible persons; that the claimant is the person she represents herself to
