This Indenture made the fifth day of October in the year of Our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty seven Between William Orr Senior and Elizabeth his wife of the Township of Fairview in the County of Mercer and State of Pennsylvania of the first part and William Orr Junior (Son of the party first named) of the place aforesaid of the second part, Witnesseth that the said parties of the first part for and in consideration of the sum of One thousand dollars lawful money of the United States of America unto them well and truly paid by the said party of the Second party At or before the Sealing and delivery of these presents, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged have granted bargained sold aliened enfeoffed released conveyed and confirmed and by these presents to grant, bargain, sell, alien, enfeoff, release, convey, and confirm unto the Said party of the Second part his heirs and assigns All that piece or parcel of ground Situate in the place above mentioned Bounded as follows, Commencing at a post, thence by land of Walker and Roberts North 3 degrees West sixty three perches to a post, thence by land of John Harsh North 88 1/2 degrees East fifty two perches to a post thence by land of William Orr Senior South 22 degrees East one hundred and forty four perches to a post, thence by land of John Brist South 75 degrees West thirty and four tenths of a perch to a post thence by Same North 78 1/2 degrees West twelve perches to a post, thence by same South 79 degrees West fourteen perches to a post, thence by Same South 41 degrees West twenty two perches to a White Oak thence by Same North 38 degrees West twenty eight perches to a White Oak thence by Same North 6 degrees West forty eight perches to a White Oak, thence by Same West twenty perches to the place of beginning, Containing fifty acres be the same more or less, being part of a larger tract called the Bookes tract which duly vested to the said William Orr by a Sheriffs sale, Together with all and Singular the hereditaments and appurtenances whatsoever thereunto belonging or in any wise appurtaining and the reversions and remainders, rents, issues and profits thereof and all the estate rights title interest, property, claim and demand whatsoever of the said parties of the first part, in law, equity, or otherwise, howsoever of in and to the same and every part thereof, To Have and to hold the said heridatements and premises hereby granted or mentioned and intended so to be with the appurtenances unto the said party of the second part his heirs and assigns, to and for the only proper use and behoof of the said party of the second part, his heirs and assigns forever, And William Orr Senior and Elizabeth his wife the said parties of the first part and their heirs executors and administrators do by these presents covenant grand and agree to and with the said party of the second part his heirs and assigns that they the said parties of the first part and their heirs all and Singular the heriditaments and premises herein above described and granted, or mentione and intended so to be, with the appurtenances unto the said part of the second part, his heirs and assigns against them the said parties of the first part and heir heirs and against all and every other person or persons whomsoever lawfully claiming or to claim the same or any part thereof in through by or there of them the said parties of the first part or their heirs Shall and will Warrant and forever defend. In witness whereof the said parties of the first part have to these presents set their hands and seals, dated the day and year first above written. William Orr. Elizabeth Orr.
Sealed and delivered in presence of us, John Harsh, George Siddal.
Received the day of the date of the above Indenture of the above named William Orr Junior the sum of one thousand Dollars, lawful money of the United States, being the consideration money above mentione in full. William Orr.
Mercer County SS: On the fifth day of October Anno Domini 1857, before me a Justice of the Peace came the above named William Orr Senior and Elizabeth his wife, and acknowledged the above Indenture to be their act and deed, and desired that the same might be recorded as such. She the said Elizabeth being of fullage, and by me examined separate and apart from her said husband, and the contents of the said Indenture being first made fully known to her, declared that she did of her own free will and accord sign and seal and as her act and deed deliver the same, without any coercion or compulsion of her said husband.
