Research Notes:
Robert J. Mack enlisted in the navy April 27, 1917, and was sent to the Great Lakes Naval Training Station. He was transferred to the S. S. Charleston, doing convoy duty, then transport duty. In July 1919, he re-enlisted for two years and is now serving on the Pacific coast as a first class seaman and gunner's mate ... [Ref: Kathryn Hill 7/1/2010]
