Research Notes:
Oct 21 1675: was with father when ambushed by Indians; escaped by hiding in a
swamp until his pursuers gave up the search; then went to Hampton, reaching
there early in the morning and giving the alarm. A company of soldiers
went out after the body, which they conveyed to the dead man's house in
Exeter [Ref: RobinsonSoc ROBINSON-Exeter p5]
lived at Exeter from 1657 to 1683 [Ref: Stearns FamHistNH v1p321]
appointed by the Norfolk County Court as joint administrator with his
mother, to administer his father's estate. The estate was heavily encumbered
with a mortgage to Theodore Attkinson Sr of Boston, to secure the fulfilment
of a contract for the delivery of pipe staves, entered into by his father on
Nov 3 1674. This contract David completed, thereby releasing the estate of
all encumbrance. The completion of this contract may have been one of the
reasons for David's late marriage in 1680 at the age of 31. [Ref: RobinsonSoc
