Research Notes:
Statements in DNB that Basilea married firstly Robert de Quenci is due to a misunderstanding of the fact that, when Raymond asked the 2nd Earl for his sister in marriage, he also asked for the office of Constable of Leinster (which the Earl had given to Robert with his daughter - not sister - in marriage), to hold until Robert's infant daughter came of age or married a man who could execute it.
