7x8 Mar 1025: captured by Fulk III Nerra, who had promised him the city of Saintes, only being released two years later, after he had sworn homage to Fulk [Ref: HenryII herbe000 1/10/2008]

1032x35: ratified a donation of Yves de Belleme, bishop of Sees [Ref: HenryII herbe000 1/10/2008]

died on 15 February (which comes from the martyrology of Couture). He was still alive at the time of a charter dated 1032x5, and was deceased before Gervais de Chateau-du-Loir became bishop of Le Mans (occurred by 17 Dec 1035) [Ref: HenryII herbe000 1/10/2008]

succeeded by his young son, Hugues IV, under the tutelage of Herbert's uncle Herbert Bacon, who was the de facto count during the early years of Hugues IV [Ref: HenryII herbe000 1/10/2008]
