1175: Rhodri escapes from captivity and drives Dafydd out of Gwynedd west of the Conwy, establishing a balance of power. The sons of Cynan also recover their father's lands. Dafydd, unable to overcome this defeat, agrees to the partition [Ref: Paul Reed SGM 10/20/1999]
