Research Notes:
sister of Eudo dapifer [Ref: CP IX p412]
described in the foundation charter of Binham priory as the sister of Eudo,
husband of Rohais. Charter was attested by Roger de Sancto Salvatore, probably
the Roger who was vicomte of Saint-Sauveur at his death in 1138, who was
nephew and successor of Eudo vicomte of Saint-Sauveur, also husband of a
Rohais [Ref: Keats-Rohan DD p758]
sister of a Eudo married to a Rohais. It has been assumed that this refers to
Eudo dapifer and his wife Rohais de Clare, but it is much more likely to refer
to Eudo vicomte de Saint-Sauveur (d.1103) and his wife. Albreda's brother was
mentioned in the Binham foundation charter, which was attested by Roger de
Saint-Sauveur, Eudo's nephew and successor. [Ref: Keats-Rohan DP p322]
Eudo, brother of Albreda wife of Peter de Valognes and husband of Rohais, was
mentioned in the latter's foundation charter for Binham shortly after 1107.
According to a leter history of St John's, Colchester, Eudo was Eudo dapiter
(d.1120/1), a landholder in Essex like Peter de Valognes. Although this is
liekly to be accurate it should be noted that the Binham charter was attested
by Roger de Saint-Sauveur, who, on account of a leter Binham charter attested
by Ralph Taisson, can be securely identified as the Roger who succeeded, with
his brother Nigel, their great-uncle Eudo, husband of Rohais, as vicomte of
Saint-Sauveur in the Cotentin. Eudo de Saint-Sauveur was dead by 1103. [Ref:
