Research Notes:
early benefactor of the priory of Wymondham [Ref: Keats-Rohan DD p863, Keats-Rohan DP p140]

charters for Wymondham attested by clerks of Athelburgh, indicating that his father was the Alfred of Athelburgh of Domesday Norfolk [Ref: Keats-Rohan DD p863]

first of his charters was attested by his nepos Adam, perhaps the Adam de Franchetere who attested the second [Ref: Keats-Rohan DD p863]

1166: held one fee de novo of Robert de Valognes, probably through his marriage to Bertha [Ref: Keats-Rohan DD p863]

Agnes lady of Ryburg claimed land there against Adam entered onthe Pipe Rolls for several years until 1176/77. The dispute possiblyarose on account of Bertha, who may have been a younger sister of Agnes [Ref: Keats-Rohan DD p863]
