Research Notes:
Fatatus was probably not a patronymic but a byname from teh Latin 'fatare, fatatus', from Fata, goddess of Destiny, meaning 'enchanted'. Its vernacular form might suggest modern French facheux, 'troublesome' [Ref: Keats-Rohan DP p338]
