identity of mother (Awde, sister of King Abgar of Edesse) is based on writings of Movses Khorenats'i. Although the account of the Armenien chronicler is especially confused here, it is probable that this data is correct. To the fifth century, the descent of the Armenien Kings from the Edesse Kings is attested [Ref: Settipani LGA p79]
