Based on a late text of the Byzantine chronicler Malalas, Chosroes had a brother called Mithridates. Malais relates that the king of Armenia Osroes (Chosroes) and his brother the king of Persia Meherdates (Mithridates) invaded the empire. Meherdates dies of a horse fall and his son Sanatroukios succeeds him, continuing the fight against Trajan with the help of his cousin Parthamaspates. Unfortunately, the text is perverted with many confusions - Malalas inverted the kingdoms of Chosroes and of Sanatroukes; an offensive stage of this part of the war is excluded; at the onset of the war the Armenian king is Axidares, not Sanatroukes, etc. [Ref: Settipani LGA p77]

known to be brother of Pakoros II, and Pakoros II was almost certainly son of Vologais I [Ref: Settipani LGA p81]

the fact that Mithridates did not intervene in the succession of Vologais I in 77, indicates that he died before Vologais I [Ref: Settipani LGA p78]

earliest date of reign is 72 (last mention of Tiridates I at the moment of the invalion of Alains) and latest date of reign is 77 (death of Vologaises I) [Ref: Settipani LGA p78]

succeeded by Sanatroukes as King of Armenia [Ref: Settipani LGA p79]
