Dion Cassius speaks for 67 BC of a king of Medie named Mithridates that was the son-in-law of Tigranes II King of Armenia [Ref: Settipani LGA p93]

there is no proof that the later kings of Media Atropatend descend through this marriage, but the presence of the name Artavasdes int he tropatend dynasty at this point (a common name in the dynasty of Tigranes), plus the possession of the kingship of Armenia by two of these Atropatenians, make it a reasonable possibility [Ref: Stewart Baldwin SGM 6/22/1996]
