land division was peculiar. Each could have a homestead or house-lot, a home
lot, a meadow, and upland. Each had 3 to 5 pieces. [Ref: WaltersP WALTERS

bought two 40-acre plots and a 50-acre plot from Major Pynchon in 1674, who
got land from Indians, and built a sawmill [Ref: WaltersP WALTERS AUSTIN-p14]
King Philip's War in 1675 suppended land grants, and they buried their things
in the ground or wells and fled to Springfield. The town, and sawmill, were
burned by Indians. They returned in 1677 and rebuilt the sawmill [Ref:
