Research Notes:
The Benajah Austin family, who came from Vermont in 1803 and settled near Leavitts town brought all their worldly possessions with them with an ox team and were 36 days on the road. The log house they built and lived in until 1817 is still standing. Mrs. Olive Austin was of an unusually cheerful disposition. Her kindly services were in demand at the bedside of the sick, where her beaming countenance was always welcome. Pioneer Women of Western Reserve quoted in [Ref: Moore AUSTIN p68]

moved to Trumbull Co OH in 1803. settled two miles west of Warren. Farmer, and Commissioner for 12 years; deputy Sheriff one year; Sheriff 2 years [Ref: Moore AUSTIN p68]
