name first appears in town records of Suffield being chosen as fence viewer at town meeting of Mar 2 1702. [Ref: Moore AUSTIN p17]

surveyor at town meeting of Mar 1 1703 [Ref: Moore AUSTIN p17]

tithing man at town meeting of Mar 3 1707 [Ref: Moore AUSTIN p17]

mentioned several times in the town records as receiving pay for timber and planks, and at town meeting of Oct 5 1744 voted pay for services as physician for sundry services for one widow Brush. [Ref: Moore AUSTIN p17]

town meeting Mar 20 1747, voted that "Dr. Nathaniel Austin shall (when he has cleared his title to ye stream) build a mill in the West Parts of the town". At this time he already had one mill as shown by the minutes of the town meeting held of Mar 20 1747 [Ref: Moore AUSTIN p17]
