Research Notes:
soldier in the Battle of Lexington. Member of the Connecticut Governor's Guards. 2nd Company Governor's Foot Guards, organized at New Haven Dec 28 1774. Forty members of the company marched to Lexington to join the American Army Apr 22 1775, under the command of Capt (later General) Benedict Arnold, and were complemented by British on their soldierly appearance [Ref: Moore AUSTIN p56]

well known to the mercantile community of New York and New Haven His enterprise fitted out the first ship for a sailing voyage to the northwest coast of America and thence to China, thus opening a source of commerce which has since poured such treasured into the country [Ref: Moore AUSTIN p56]
