incorrectly stated in CP that she d.s.p.m [Ref: Chris Phillips SGM 9/29/2001-052505]

probably the statement that Ela died without male issue comes from a bill annexed to the inquisition post mortem of Ela's daughter Denise, late the wife of Hugh Cokesheye, taken 3 Mar 1375/6. This refers to William and Ela "being dead without heirs male of their bodies" following the death of their son Edward le Botiller (d.1375). Nevertheless, it is clear from the bill that William and Ela were survived by two of their sons, Edmund and Edward, and it was only on Edward's death that the male heirs became extinct [Ref: CP++ Boteler 12/31/2006 (CP II p232)]
