granted the lands held in 1086 by William the Chamberlain of Geoffrey Bishop of Coutances, which centered on Lavendon in Buckinghamshire [Ref: Keats-Rohan DD p325]

by time of Henry I, Barony of Lavendon had passed to Halneth de Bidun; it had been held by the bishop of Coutances and his tenant, William the Sewer, in Domesday Book [Ref: Sanders Baronies p128]
