Research Notes:
usually described by historians as a justiciary, but he certainly was not a judge of either of the courts of Westminster, nor a regular justice of assize. His judicial functions seem to have been confined to the special trials with which his name is connected [Ref: Foss Judges p677]

CP VI:343 does state Maud is said to have been a daughter of Sir William Trussell, Sir Waryn's brother, but if that were the case Maud would then have been co-heiress with Sir William's daughter Margaret, which she was not, and the arms of her husband would have been quartered with those of Trussell, which they were not [Ref: Ronny Bodine SGM 8/17/1999]
