Research Notes:
sole heir of Dunbeath's marriage to Marion of the Isles. Proven by the grant of 24 Oct 1439 by the Earl of Ross to his brother-in-law and sister and their heirs the lands of Dunbeath and Reay, and an inquest at Inverness finding that Marion was the sole heir to these lands. [Ref: MacEwen 7Countesses Caithness p87]

grant of 13 Aug 1449 by John, Earl of Ross and Lord of the Isles, of the lands of Easter Kindeace, to Dunbeath and his heirs general (not to his heirs by Marion). These lands were also inherited by Marion alone. [Ref: MacEwen 7Countesses Caithness p87]
