Research Notes:

there is a worthless tradition that they arrived in the ship "Elizabeth and
Ann" 1635, which tradition is nullified by the list of passengers and date of
arrival. [Ref: EmersonPH EMERSON-1898 p23]
departure of the better class of emigrants was often not recorded, and Hotten
gives examples in his work of such unrecorded families. They doubtless
chartered vessels for themselves or took passages in private vessels. This
was doubtless the case with Thomas Emerson of Ipswich and his family, and more
especially as he evidently left England for religious reasons. [Ref: EmersonPH
