Lieut Col [Ref: KingCH KING p513, WaltersP WALTERS EMERSON-p95]

He is identified with a Lieut Col EMERSON, whose will was proven at Tangiers, Africa, 1664. The latter James left wife, Lydia, and told of his nephew, Mr. Roberts, of Bishop's Stortford. He had a daughter Lydia who married (by license Jan 13 1670) J STUBBINGS, citizen of London. There is no proof he ever came to New England [Ref: EmersonBK EMERSON p22, WaltersP WALTERS EMERSON-p98]
