in first edition of CP was given as a dau of Sir Stephen WALEYS, of Newton, but no documentary proof of this has been found [Ref: CP XII/2 p234(a)]

6 June 1317, Octave of Trinity, 10 Edward II, Richard son of Stephen le Waleys and Eleanor his wife, querents; Robert son of William le Vavasour, deforciant, of a moiety of the manor of Helagh in Aynsty which Nichola widow of William le Vavasour holds in dower. Covenant. Richards's right. Robert for himself and his heirs has granted that the said moiety, which Nichola held in dower of his estate on the day of this fine and which at her death should revert to him and his heirs, shall remain to Richard and Eleanor and Richard's heirs to hold of the chief lords, etc. Robert and his heirs to warrant. For 200 marks of silver. Made in the presence and with the consent of Nichola, who has done fealty to Richard and Eleanor in court.
