before 1087: received the king's permission to found a cell of the abbey of Bernay at Eye, but it is unlikely to have been built before the early years of Henry I [Ref: Keats-Rohan DP p389]

soon after 1087: Eye was controlled by Roger ictaviensis, but by 1100 Robert was back in England in possesion of Eye [Ref: Keats-Rohan DP p389]
