1185: appears on the Rondi de Dominabus, p50, as aged sixty, with three sons and two daughters [Ref: Keats-Rohan DD p854]

1187: demand for scutage was divided between Agnes and Walter, her brother-in-law, each was assessed at 15 knights' fees [Ref: Sanders Baronies p145(5)]

Clay conjectured that the wife of William Paynell, lord of Hooton Pagnell, Yorkshire, may have been one of the two daughters of Agnes de Montcanisy, daughter of Payn fitz John, but this was an error. Oseney charters show that it was Sarah, Agnes' daughter by her first husband halenald de Bidun who was wife of a William Paynell living in the reign of Henry III [Ref: Keats-Rohan DD p1058]
